This is a 6x18 framed needle work of the Hmong. It is a part of a Hmong woman's sash, worn around her waist. The Hmong originally lived in China, and since late 1700s and early 1800s in Southeast Asia, and after 1975 in many Western countries, mainly the United States of America. Hmong women are well known internationally for their needleart skills. This antique piece is an example.
