The Mexican Tagetes lucida is a beautiful, bright green perennial herb
originally from Guatemala and the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is known
by the local Indians recreationally as well as in the kitchen.
Scent :Sweet, licorice, anise like, with a hint of floral, intoxicating.
The Zapotecs use Tagetes as a primary herb in purification rituals.
The plant is popular with the Tarahumara Indians of Chihuahua and is
known by the modern Huichol Indians in their religious (peyote)rituals.
