Horsehair pottery is one of the most difficult mediums in all of Native American Artwork as it involves flaming the pottery to an incredible 1600 degrees, then immediately pulling it out, applying the horsehair and then returning it to the kiln. Often times this results in the pottery actually exploding! Thankfully, Tom Vail has mastered this art form and rather than creating shards of broken pottery and dust, he provides the world with some of the most lovely and engaging works of art you will ever see. This beautiful horsehair cat has traditional etchings on its back and measures 20" by 355" wide. These make fantastic gifts for anyone who enjoys cats, Native American arts and crafts or horsehair pottery. (Signed T Vail.) NOTE: There will be slight color and shade variations that are inherent to handmade pottery. The lines created by the horsehair application will never be identical nor will the specific designs etched into each piece. The placement and shape will vary from piece to piece as each is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art.
