This Dance of Delight "La Volta" new violin outfit is a fabulous instrument, and is complete and ready to go - we even rosin the bow and include a new box of Hidersine rosin! This is a quality outfit which would be an excellent first instrument or for a keen / improving student
The La Volta violins are individually selected for Dance of Delight by Niny Lam, MA in performing arts, Vienna, and Anton Sie, who publishes papers in acoustics, physics and string instrument research.
In our workshop we finalise the adjustments, fitting a new bridge, strings and soundpost, before offering it to you. The La Volta new violin outfit also includes
- Shaped canvas-covered case with carry-handle and strap, lined in velvet with clips for two bows and accessory compartment
- 1 full-length bow in brazilwood with good-quality fittings including ebony frog, of standard weight (64 grammes)
- Box of Hidersine Deluxe rosin
The violin is fully set up and has a sweet and even tone. This violin outfit consistently amazes musicians who see it and play it - they're astounded by the value for money. Other sizes are available - contact us for information

Unusually for a violin of this price the decorative purfling around the edge is inlaid rather than inked on. Inside, this violin is well made being fully blocked and lined which contributes to its durability and tone.
Oil varnish makes this violin look a little out of the ordinary and feel more refined. This violin has been professionally set up with new Dominant strings, bridge and soundpost. The tailpiece has four adjusters to help with fine tuning, and the fingerboard is of ebony. The Guarneri style chinrest is made from jujube wood - again unusual for a violin in this price range.
The pegs work well and are made from jujube which is very similar to boxwood in appearance. Please see the information pages for more about the woods used in violin construction. We were very impressed when we first tried these instruments and having set them up with new strings we have no hesitation in recommending them.
The violin comes with a nice quality wooden bow of proper weight with mother-of-pearl insets on the ebony frog and a nicely-made bow tip.
The complete outfit comes in a shaped, lightweight case.
