PT2018 Daniel Boone Print
Daniel Boone led the way west as a nation emerged. Today, his memory surely kindles the fire of wanderlust and adventure in the hearts of all buckskinners. This signed and numbered print is a pencil portrait of Daniel Boone at about the time he came through the Cumberland Gap into the land of Kentucky. The 35-40 year old Boone, depicted here by frontier artist Ron Beights, has been carefully de-aged from the only authenticated posed painting of Boone ever done when as an 85 year old man, Boone was printed at his home in the Femme Osage Valley in what is now Missouri. The deep set eyes, hooked nose, angular cheek bones, and wide, thin lipped mouth are all prominent in the original painting and are carefully reproduced here. The standing Boone of this print carefully follows Nathan Boones description of his fathers physique. The artist has brought back a younger Daniel Boone and placed him amid his natural surroundings a nicely composed montage of trees, mountains, Indians and wildlife. The Boone signature shown here is taken from National Geographic. The earring, nose ring, and amulet of the Shawnees are taken from early Catlin paintings. This print is the spirit and figure of Daniel Boone; place it on an east wall so he can look ever westward. Each personally signed and numbered print measures 16 X 20 and is printed on high quality cover stock.
