It's been one year and two months since we started with this project. It took a lot of time as usually but it really paid off. The main reason about this long wait is because we didn't want another tire so we searched for something special.
We found a whole new inner material called Silkworm. The Silkworm features a special net design that prevents flats and is stronger than the regular tire material. We don't want to say that this tires are 100% anti-flat because we suppose that it may get one sometime but we can tell you that we've been using them for 8 months straight without any single flat. We've been trying to get a flat on purpose hanging up on sharp skatepark corners and stuff and there is no way to get a flat!
Ruben designed a tread that makes sense. Not just a nice design. As you can see on the photos, the distance between treads is bigger as the wheel is more angled because that's when you need it.
We used slighty bigger measurements. 2.0 or 1.90 for rear and 2.25 or 2.15 for front. Ruben wanted to try slighty bigger tyres especially on the front to absorb impacts and he loves them.
The rear tire features a protection line that prevents any damage on the sides without increasing the thickness of rubber on sidewalls. Whenever you hit the side grinding, you'll never touch the sidewalls, just that line or the tread pattern. See the drawing to understand it better.
The front tyre is called Campillera (for trails use in Spanish) and the rear tire is called Callejera (for street riding in Spanish). Sorry for the difficult names for the non-Spanish speakers but those are the words that we use when we go riding so it was funny to us.
