K&N developed and manufactures a high-flow, washable filter that has been proven, again and again, to increase an engines performance. Oiled premium cotton gauze keeps dirt and debris on the outside of the filter to improve filtering efficiency. Hence, dust and dirt will not clog the filter element as quickly as paper and foam. The accordion fold design provides up to five times the filtering surface of non-pleated filters. You won't have to worry about moisture either, since it will not clog the oil-saturated element. Even after being completely wet, the filter won't need to be replaced. The cotton filter media is protected by an epoxy coated aluminum screen mesh that also straightens the air flow for increased air flow. Installation: Fits into factory air filter housing exactly like the factory paper element.
Tech Notes: Filter is cleaned by first brushing off any large embedded dirt. Then spray on the K&N cleaner and let it soak for 10 minutes. Next, Rinse off the element with LOW pressure water. (Always flush from the clean side to the dirty side.) Then allow filter to dry NATURALLY. After filter has dried re-oil with K&N air filter oil only. Apply evenly to entire filter making sure to oil down into each pleat. Then re-install making sure the element seats properly in the filter case. 50 States Smog Legal
