The Wahoo Santoku offers great forging art from the Japanese forge Takefu. The handle is made of very hard Bubinga wood, which has reddish-brown colouring with decorative dark strips. A ferrule made of genuine buffalo horn connects the handle to the blade, which is made of 33-layers VG-10 damask steel and on both sides polished. For the blade of the Japanese chef´s knives series Wahoo the forge Takefu uses a 33-layers VG 10 Damask steel, which has a hardness of 60 degrees at the Rockwell scale. The material which is used makes a cleaning by hand necessary. Not dishwasher safe.
