Large Germany porcelain tray with a bold grapes design in blue and white. This tray was originally encased in a heavy tin or pewter rim that was too damaged to save and had to be removed. While there is crazing to the glaze, the design has held up very well. This could still be used as a bread tray or cheese tray, and would look very nice on your baker's shelf or in your hutch. Mild distubances around the edges from where the rim was. The tray is marked Germany on the back and has the numbers 30 3 24 on the back. If this is a date, it would indicate its origin to be from the 20s or 30s There is also a 4 and 88 stamped on the back, but I would not think this is from 1988 because that was when items were marked Western Germany. The tray measures 12 1/2" and is quite substantial.
