HERDER WINDMILL KNIVES A TRADITIONAL COMPANY FROM SOLINGEN - original Solingen knives handmade - Solingen knives
The Stollen (a special German cake, which is eaten in the christmas time) belongs to the so-called "heavy yeast dough", as the baker master says. The finished cake has high demands for the knife, with which it is cut. Finally it must cut through soft and firm components, as juicy raisins or firm almonds smoothly and cleanly.
For this purpose the "blaugepliestet" knife is very well suitable. The "Blaupliessten" by hand is in the traditional Solingen sharpening handicraft the finest treatment of the blade surface. Today this technology is controlled by only a handful of the best sharpeners in Solingen. By this treatment the blade gets a fine blue glow. The particularly smooth surface also splits hard things very easyly. "Blaupliessten" stands for highest sharpness! The blades are made of high-quality and stainless steel.
This knife is momentumfully and elegantly formed. The blade is made of high-quality and stainless steel. The handle is made of noble, finely polished cherry tree wood and is by hand adapted to the blade.
