| The Medalta gift shop went live in July 2004. We are a non profit organization and opportunities to utilize free open source software of this caliber are a rare find. Since its inception, on-line sales have gone a long way to offset some of our operating costs.
The Friends of Medalta Society is a non-profit organization that fosters an understanding and appreciation of the Medicine Hat Clay Industries National Historic District, its importance in the development of Medicine Hat, and its impact across Canada. The Historic Clay District is a living-working industrial museum that offers a unique experience through its collections, exhibits, interpretation, guided tours, and educational and artistic programming. It is operated under the auspices of the Friends of Medalta Society that is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Medalta Potteries and Hycroft China are important focal points within the District.
Our on line gift shop offers original Medalta Stoneware and Hycroft China products as well as reproduction stoneware crocks, bowls and mugs. As well we have a unique selection of Altaglass hand blown art glass.
