Lacquered all wood disk necklace with graduated disks and shaped closures that are made of carved horn. Though there is no tag, based on information from knowledgeable dealers the design is very similar to Monies necklaces, many of whose items are created by contemporary Danish designer, Gerda Lynggaard. I would say that the likelihood that it is a Monies is on the high end of the scale. Measuring 19" from end to end, the disks are strung on two strands of heavy cord. The uppermost disks are connected to the closures with rubber gaskets, one of which is beginning to wear away. Though highly evident in our enlarge photo, it is barely noticeable when worn. If bothersome, both of the gaskets could be removed without affecting the wear of this attractive designer necklace. The largest disk measures 1 1/8" in diameter.
