A great Civil War two-piece Wanamaker & Brown button embossed with a star and the words Wanamaker & Brown on the brass front and two stars and the word Superior on the black metal back. There is a round metal shank that runs through the center of the button and that still holds a few of the threads that held it on the clothing it came from. Wanamaker & Brown buttons date from the 1860s and are considered quite collectible.
